I want to share from my heart and provide some solutions to things that I get asked about all the time. Things that I see people struggling with. Things I struggled with too.

There are no sales gimmick here – this is me sharing how I can help you achieve the desires of your heart.

Your goals DON’T need to be about weight loss, they can be about anything.

If you use these tactics I’m going to share with you today – you can achieve success in any area.

At the end I’m going to share a simple FREE tool for you to use so you can apply what you’ll learn in the next 15 minutes.

5 Ways to Cross Off Your New Year’s Resolutions Forever and Create the Life you always wanted.

If you’re anything like me, you write down those same resolutions every single year.

I did too, until one day… everything changed.

That’s what I’m going to share with you today. How I made that change and you can too.

The very first thing you need to know is this: the past is in the past and we can learn from it.

But God is tapping you on the shoulder and His message is “Hey, follow me and I will show you the path.” Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go.”

The way you’ve been living isn’t working for you, in fact, it might even be hurting you. And we can change that together. I’m NOT telling you that to make you feel bad about yourself.

I’m not trying to put shame or guilt on you.

In fact, that is exactly how the enemy wants you to feel; shame, guilt and doubt.

What I’m telling you is: now is the time to take full responsibility for your life.

One of the most important things I did after my brother passed away from Cancer, was to be honest with myself.

#1 Be honest with yourself

I had to look at my life, learn about who I was, what makes me tick, what motivates me, what makes me feel bad, physically and emotionally and say…

“This could be my fault” and it’s certainly up to me to make the changes.

NO one can change the way I think or feel, or what I eat or spend my time doing, except me.Not MAYBE did I have something to do with how I felt, but I did in fact have a lot to do with it, my choices in life despite hurts from the past.

I wasn’t where I wanted to be, I lived in pain, I was a yo-yo dieter and had low self worth. I needed to learn the lessons and turn things around.

If I had contributed to the pain I was in, the weight and lack of confidence in my  life –

I could also contribute to better health and freedom. Maybe I could learn from this.
We live in a world of cause….and effect.

What you think matters.

What you put in your mouth matters.

What you do or don’t do matters.

There is an effect for everything we do and poor health, excessive weight and lack of self-confidence are convergence of many factors in your life coming together at the same time.

If you go ahead and say “okay, this may be my fault” You know what that does?

It empowers you

It sets you free

I can sit here and tell you everything you need to do and  what you should eat but I’m going to take a step back here because many provide this but it doesn’t help.

And the truth is, it’s easy to start a diet or set a goal but it’s difficult to stick with or achieve them!  Why?

I’m going to show you a way that makes it less difficult, in fact if you do it, you will have greater success right out of the gate.

The truth is, where you start can make the difference between success, living a full life, having joy, finally being self confident and no longer feeling guilt, shame and doubt.

Where you start can make the difference in creating the life you want, the life God wants for you.

Whether you think you’ve tried everything before  – like I did, there is an answer and a way.

So let’s Cross OFF LOSE Weight and Feel Good this year!

We AREN’T going to make excuses…we are going to get the job done and I’m going to show you how!

If you ever listen to the teaching of Joyce Meyer, you know all she suffered and endured through her life – with abuse, neglect…and I could go on…

But as an adult, it was up to her to make changes and realize that her adult life was comprised of the decisions she made, despite her past.

She couldn’t do anything about her childhood but she had choices as an adult.

Now she’s one of the most well known and respected speakers, teachers and religious leaders in the world.

Do you think that could happen without her being honest with herself and making choices as an adult that would make a difference?

Now – let’s talk about what you can do to create the life you want.

In the past you have tried to make several changes at once and it didn’t work out how you planned. You were back at square one after a few weeks or months.

I want to help you change those odds!

Focusing on less helps you achieve more

And to do that, we are going to decide one change to make.

Maybe you’ve heard me mentioned this before but  the #1 reason why people end up failing year after year is, they try to change too much at once.

Research shows that whenmaking one lifestyle change at a time, we have an 80% chance of achieving it.

If we try to change two behaviors – the success rate drops to 30%.

Three – drops to less than 5% – that’s zero to me!

It’s easy to see when you go on a diet and changeALLof your eating and meals,

exercise regiment and add something else new like self care, why there iscomplete failure.

And that is what most diets encourage you to do. Change everything.

Why would we even attempt more than 1 or two things based on those odds?

We have been set up for failure

The only way you’ll form long-lasting habits is by focus on one habit at a time, so that you’ll be able to focus all your energy on creating that one habit.

You may be asking, How do I do that?

Leo Babauta, author of the bestselling book The Power of Less provides this insight after his own successful transformation:

  • Select one habit…only one habit per month. You can choose any habit – whatever you think will have the biggest impact on your life.
  • Write down your plan and specifically state what your goal will be each day, when you’ll do it
  • Post your goal publicly. Tell as many people as possible that you are trying to form your new habit. (Our private group is the perfect place for this But you can reach out to a friend or co-worker as well.  
  • Report on your progress daily. Because it makes it real and it makes you accountable.

So far, I’ve covered two ways for you to make lasting changes and create the life you want.

#1 Be honest with yourself. Admit and take responsibility, it’s freeing

#2 Change one thing

I want you to start off with success and your success will begin with being honest, and one thing!

Sometimes you are tempted to take shortcuts in order to reach your goals as quickly as possible. I’m guilty of it too but this has backfired in the past.

So… What is the one thing you can dot that if doing it, everything else will be easier?

In the book, The One Thing, the author say that there are three things that affect physical health.

Sleep, Food and Exercise.

I don’t completely agree with them, but I agree with the concept of One thing.

We’ll get back to what they say in a minute.

Let’s talk about one thing…

That one thing can have a few actions.

Let me give you an example: I know that my worst meal of the day is breakfast. But I have no time in the morning so I grab whatever. And I know it’s the most important meal of the day and it can set me up for success or failure.

So, I make a decision that I’m going to have a healthy breakfast every day for the next month.

The action for that would be: telling your family, deciding the food to eat and getting rid of the temptations in the house.

Examples of a good breakfast could be a smoothie every day and you plan and pre-make freezer bags with fruit, spinach and other ingredients so it takes you about 90 seconds. Or you make overnight oats for the entire week and just grab and go.

That is creating a new habit.

Sounds pretty easy right?

If you made one simple change each month for a year at the end of the year you’d have 12 changes!!! How many times have you successfully changed 12 things in a year to reach your goals?

Why not?

Because we try to change those twelve things at once instead of one at a time.

Let’s talk about one thing that isn’t food related – and this relates to point #3 and change, doesn’t really doesn’t start with food anyway – it starts with what you’re thinking about and what you put first (your priority).

Here’s an example:

You wake up and you’re feeling down on yourself – you don’t have energy, you don’t like your job, you may not like your husband either. It doesn’t feel good to wake up like this does it?

But you love God. And you know HE loves you from a theoretical standpoint but you really don’t give Him much time. But like any good relationship – you must give it time.

Time is something you can never get more of. So we feel it’s limited.

Let me ask you – have you ever stopped and prayed and felt like time stood still for a few minutes?

Like maybe if we stop and give God some time first, other things will fall into place as they should?

So you make a decision to set the alarm 10 minutes earlier and you go somewhere quiet and talk to God. You pray, you thank Him even when it’s really hard and you sit and listen. Your thoughts are on Him and nothing negative. You do this every day for a month.

#3 Think about what you’re thinking about and put God first.

Not only does He desire us to spend time with Him but he wants to help with whatever is going in our  lives. But He can’t, unless you give it to him. Unless you spend time and pay attention to what you’re thinking about.

So – Give it to Him.

That doesn’t mean you have no responsibility. Don’t ask God to take what you’re feeling away but instead ask him for the strength to help you work through it. We go through things because we are learning lessons.

I’m sure you’ve heard the explanation of insanity right?

Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results?

We need to do something different and learn the lesson to get past it. Ask God to help you.

To give you the strength, the wisdom and the know how to get to your goals.

This past week  at church my Pastor said:

Make God the loudest voice in your head.

That was powerful and if we think about that for a moment how would you envision God speaking to you? In an uplifting, loving way? In a way that is proud of you?

My Pastor also said – we don’t see ourselves the way God sees us. He’s right. God thinks we’re perfect. We are created in His image! Genesis 1:27 states this!

We also need to stop comparing ourselves to others and God tells us this in Galatians 6.

We need to believe this!

Earlier I talked about the book the One Thing and the authors said there are three things affect our physical health and I didn’t agree.

They said it was sleep, food and exercise. And yes, those do affect our physical health.

But they neglected two HUGE pieces of that puzzle.

Our Faith practice and Our Thinking

Let me give you an example:

How do you normally talk to yourself?

I mean, what do you say? In your head…and sometimes out loud. Do you say things like, wow I  look great and I have so much energy. God, my family and friends love me and I’m so blessed.

I’m doing a great job at work and I’m such a great mom (or sister, or wife). I’m so happy today.  

Or do you say things like…

Boy I look like crap, these clothes don’t fit, my boss it a jerk and I hate my job, my kids are a driving me crazy, no one really loves me and I’m not happy at all. I have so many problems.

Now – tell me how do you feel when you are saying those things.

Do you think the positive ones automatically allow you to feel better?

How good do you feel when you say something nice to someone else? And vice versa?

Let me give you another example.

Have you ever felt anxious?

And if you do, what happens physically?

You sweat…your mouth gets dry…your throat gets tight. That fear take your body captive.

Does whatever you are thinking, that caused anxiety affect you physically?  Yes, right? Everything I described was physical.

My point is…

Thinking greatly affects your physical health.

The second one I added above was faith – or Faith practice.

I want to share something with you that is astonishing!

Did you know that you could increase your longevity from 4 to 14 years of quality life by attending religious services? Yes, you heard that correctly.

There have been several studies and research that show how beneficial it is to attend church!

Our Faith practice also includes relationship and community. Yes, we are there to learn and grow in faith but also connect with people. Its that important!

So despite what the authors of The One Thing state about physical health, I believe:

5 things that affect our physical health are:

Faith practice, our thinking, sleep, food and exercise

What can you do to change your thinking? Speak and think positively.

I developed a Manifesto that I provide to my FEAST students (you can grab a copy here).



I ask them to print it and tape it up so they can read it everyday and it’s based on Biblical principles. I also ask them to sign a personal covenant – an agreement to themselves that they are committed to be present, be accountable and do the work.

The 4th way to create the life you always wanted and end the resolutions is:

#4 Be Committed and Accountable

There are a couple important questions I ask every person I work with and now I’m going to ask you.

  1. Why do you think you are unhealthy or overweight or lacking self-confidence?

What are the reason why you think you are unhealthy or overweight or have negative self worth?

I think you likely know the answer.

  1. The second question is do you really want to create the life you desire?

Do you really want to achieve those goals? It doesn’t matter if it’s lose weight, feel good about who you are, get healthy, have more money, more energy or be more connected to God.

The question is do you really want to achieve it?

Yes or no?

Do you really want to take the steps to change?

Because if you don’t really want this, then there is no point in doing anything right now.

But if you really want to create the life you always wanted and stop writing down the same resolutions year after year – sign your own personal covenant.

Be committed and accountable

But if you’re not willing to make changes, then I can’t help you. And I will never tell you that

this one supplement or herb or meal plan or exercise or food is going to do the work for you!

Anyone who tells you that just wants to take your money. It’s called marketing.

There is no magic bullet. But it’s easier for most people to say here’s a meal plan, recipes and a work out – and you’re ready!

That is simply not true!

And if it were, the diet industry wouldn’t be so huge! $60 Billion last i checked.

The cost of obesity is $147 Billion!  So, if you think living a healthy life is expensive, try living a sick one. Your health is worth fighting for, it’s worth you being committed and accountable.

Where do you want to be next year at this time?

What does it look like?

What are you willing to do to get there?

What aren’t you willing to do to get there.

The 5th way to cross off those resolutions is …

#5 Know what you really want and what you’re willing to do for it !


I gave you a few examples above about making a change. They seemed pretty simple though, right?

Think about this again…if you made one simple change each month for a year at the end of the year you’d have 12 lifestyle changes!

Changing one thing is a lot less daunting isn’t it.

So….if you changed the way you ate one meal a month – you’d have all three new habits down in 90 days.

If you changed your thinking, by adding in prayer or talking nice to yourself or reading a daily manifesto and being more aware… after a month of doing that, you’d have it down!

Now you’ve changed your meals and your thought life and prayer.

That’s a lot. Just by changing one thing at a time.

What’s stopping you?


Fear of failure? Failure means you’re trying. I fail all the time.

I’m giving you a way to succeed. But fear is a powerful emotion. And if fear is stopping you from doing something to better your life or bring you closer to God, then it isn’t from Him and God can help you deal with it.

He may make you fearful if you approach a Cliff so you are aware and don’t fall off. But He isn’t making you fearful of success.!

The enemy created fear, doubt and shame to keep you where you’re at.

Be aware of your thinking and put God first. He will help you through it.

If you know my story then you know my ah – ha moment was the loss of my brother.

That was my turning point.

But I discovered so much more as I began my journey. I realized that in my past I had battled with self worth issues of feeling less than good enough. I fell into the dirty trap of comparisons!

That is what held me back from being free. Free from and endless the cycle of diet after diet and then sabotaging those efforts only to be back where I started. That is what needed to change and even though food was a symptom of the changes I made, it wasn’t the answer.

Loving myself was the answer

Having purpose in my life was the answer

Being HONEST with myself was the answer

Putting God first was the answer

And making one change at a time was the answer

My self worth didn’t come from being a size 4 or my Butt being smaller. Haha!

My self worth would only come from knowing that I’m loved and was created perfectly in God’s image!

Can you relate to my thinking? I bet you can.

It was my job to honor that and be a good steward with what I was given – and then help others like you.

Be honest with yourself.

Have purpose and begin to transform and create the life you want.

I needed healing – maybe you do too and in order to heal I needed to understand where the hurt was coming from. I’m not saying you won’t need to make diet and lifestyle changes.

You will need to make changes.

But you don’t need to start with food. That is what most programs do, they tell you what to eat and how much and give you meal plans and exercises and off you go.

I’ll teach you about nutrition and food and exercise but I don’t start there because it’s been proven not to work.

God’s plan for us is to be the healthiest people on the planet and not live in shame, guilt or doubt but live in Joy!
